Terms & Conditions
We work from a home therapy space in Rostrevor, and we also have our therapy dog (Zoey) available for sessions if requested with both Jess and Abbie only. We would strongly recommend getting a “mental health care plan” from your GP as it allows for 10 sessions per calendar year to be rebated. Sessions are charged at an hourly rate (50 minutes face-to-face, 10 minutes for case notes, session prep, payment).
-
Abbie: Clinical psychologist $265. Medicare rebate $149.05 = gap fee $115.95
-
Jess: General psychologist $220. Medicare rebate $101.55 = gap fee $118.45
With younger children, we always start with an “initial session” with a parent/guardian to gather background. We prefer to do this without the child present and so it can be conducted over the phone or in person at the clinic. The initial interview usually takes about 50 - 60 mins. This is charged at a normal session rate and is eligible for the rebate with Medicare or Private Health.
However, if your child is 12 or over we do leave it up to the discretion of the parent/caretaker whether the initial is best done with the young person. This is best in situations where it will booster rapport from not talking to someone “behind their back” or in situations where they are capable of giving the background themselves. If you do opt for this, please feel free to send any background info via email using this form.
Purpose of Collecting and Holding Information

As part of providing psychological services, the psychologist will collect and record personal and health information relevant to the client’s assessment, diagnosis, and treatment. This information is recorded as part of clinical case notes and helps ensure that appropriate, informed, and effective psychological care is provided. All information is stored securely in accordance with relevant privacy legislation and professional guidelines.
Access to Client Information

Clients are entitled to request access to information held about them in their clinical file. Access will be provided unless relevant legislation or professional guidelines restrict access (for example, where access may pose a risk of harm to the client or another person). Requests for access to records can be made in writing.
Release of Information

In providing treatment, the psychologist may need to obtain or share relevant information with other professionals involved in the client’s care (for example, GPs, paediatricians, schools, or other allied health professionals). Information will only be shared with the client’s consent, unless disclosure is otherwise required or authorised by law.
Confidentiality
All personal information gathered during the provision of psychological services will remain confidential and securely stored, except where:
-
The information is subpoenaed by a court;
-
Failure to disclose the information would place the client or another person at serious and imminent risk of harm;
-
The client (or parent/guardian where appropriate) has provided consent to: provide a written report to another professional or agency (e.g., GP, school, lawyer); or to discuss relevant information with another person involved in the client’s care;
-
Disclosure is otherwise required or authorised by law

Use of Digital Documentation Tools

To assist with accurate clinical documentation, digital transcription tools may occasionally be used during sessions to support the psychologist’s preparation of written case notes. These tools convert spoken information into written text to assist with documentation. The purpose of this technology is solely to support clinical note-taking. Audio recordings are not stored, and all information is handled in accordance with privacy and confidentiality requirements. Clients are welcome to discuss or decline the use of this technology at any time.
Cancellation Policy
If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please provide at least 12 hours’ notice. Appointments cancelled with less than 12 hours’ notice, or missed appointments, will incur a cancellation fee of $100.
